When Charles came out of prison, life seemed a blur. His family had fallen apart and he had lost contact with his children; he no longer had a home and was out of work. He felt low and angry with himself.
But a difficult childhood had instilled in Charles a determination to tackle and overcome his problems. So, despite facing many obstacles and with the future looking bleak, Charles was determined to find a way forward.
Help arrived in the shape of Education, Training and Employment advice from Red Kite Learning. With this support life seemed more hopeful, as Charles realised he did have something to offer: transferable skills and a good career history. Thus his self-esteem started to improve. The advisor at Red Kite Learning helped Charles learn how to disclose his offence to potential employers, and also helped him practise his interview skills. Charles was able to make use of the training resources to practise for the CSCS test and also received tuition to improve his literacy and numeracy skills.
Since successfully gaining employment Charles recognises that he is moving away from the offending lifestyle thanks to Red Kite Learning.
