Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Jobs Fair*
21st May 2008, Kensington & Chelsea Town Hall
A collaboration between the Royal Borough's Regeneration Team, Job Centre Plus, the Learning and Skills Council and the borough's key employers, advice & guidance services and training providers.  The day offered initial contact, introductory opportunities and referral points to jobs as well as support, demonstrations and information on training for over 600 local job seekers.

Linking London Lifelong Learning Network Annual Conference
14th March 2008, Central Hall
The first annual conference of this network of Higher and Further Education providers attracted over 120 delegates.  Full delegate management included joint work on the invitation format; processing online bookings; managing workshop and catering preferences; producing branded information for delegate packs, handling queries and managing logistics on the day.  This enabled staff from the Lifelong Learning Network to concentrate on the programme and speakers for the day.   

Eduserv Symposium
February 2007
A national annual event focussing on the latest developments in technology and its applications within education.  Based in Bristol, Eduserv was seeking an appropriate centrally based London venue which could cater for up to 150 delegates.  The event organiser also needed to find suitable accommodation and a resturant for senior staff members and visiting speakers.  The request was handled promptly and suitable sites found in line with the budget set, freeing up the event organiser to focus on the programme and invitation details.

Southwark ESOL Network Events
13th Dec 2006, 13th Mar, 22nd Jun, 28th Sept, 16th Nov 2007 and 13th Feb 2008, various venues in Southwark
A series of network events held once a term for 29 learning providers of ESOL courses based in the London borough of Southwark;  this being part of a much wider network development and management role. The events were held in local venues with external speakers providing input on the latest thinking within this specialist area. Themes covered included; employment focussed ESOL; improving quality; funding ESOL provision; partnership working and ESOL for work qualifications.

Reshaping Services*
28th November 2007, Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre
A sub-regional network event focussing on the findings and recommendations of the Regional Review of provision for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LLDD) and looking in depth at what shape and form this provision is to take in Central London.  This half day event was attended by over 50 learning provider organisations from the Central London sub-region.

Learning for Living and Working in London*

18th July 2007, Roots & Shoots 
Two local consultation events to discuss recommendations put forward within the LSC's strategy document for developing provision for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.  Over 60 representatives from 36 key networks and provider institutions in Central London attended across the two days.  Feedback was generated, listed in priority order and submitted to the LSC as part of the planning process. 

Creative Services Summit
26 March 2007, Unicorn Theatre & Hilton Tower Bridge
Managed on behalf of Arts Council London this one-day event brought together for the first time Children’s Services across the 33 London Local Authorities to discover potential solutions offered to their services by the arts sector.

Transforming Lives Conference*

Commissioned by LSC London Region, this half day conference highlighted developments taking place around the implementation of National LSC strategy ‘Learning for Living and Work: improving education and training opportunities for people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities’, and considered implications for local learning providers.

Arts Award Advisers’ Conference

Managed on behalf of Arts Council England and Trinity College London, this one-day conference celebrated the first year of the Arts Award and shared good practice amongst Arts Award Advisers from across England.

Employer seminar: employing ex-offenders
23 May 2006, Her Majesty's Prison (HMP) Brixton
This half-day seminar equipped employers with an awareness of: the issues and barriers facing ex-offenders when looking for employment; promoting best practice in the recruitment of ex-offenders; the wealth of skills and expertise that this potential workforce has to offer.

Next Steps Consultation Conference*
8 Feb 2006, London South Bank University
Commissioned by London Central LSC this event considered the strategic and practical issues linked to the implementation of the LSC’s Skills for Life Strategy. The commission involved identification of venue and key speakers, with four discussion group workshops focusing on key areas of policy implementation. Workshops drew out key recommendations and actions for participants and the LSC to take forward.

Ministerial launch of Offender Learning Green Paper
15 December 2005, into Centre, Southwark.
Red Kite Learning organised the hosting of the launch of the government’s Offender Learning Green Paper at the into Centre, Southwark, London. The launch, which unveiled the government’s new plans to improve education and training for offenders, was attended by then Education Secretary Ruth Kelly, Home Secretary Charles Clarke, Work and Pensions Secretary John Hutton, Sir Digby Jones, Director General of the CBI as well as a range of Red Kite Learning’s service users.

Supported by London Central LSC and designed in consultation with CLLP steering group members, this event was arranged following the publication of the Skills White Paper and the need to share more widely, current practice in the development of accessible progression routes for adult learners using collaboration as a key mechanism to reach marginalised learners.

Southwark CLASS conferences: Connecting Learning and Strategy In Southwark
20 May 2004 and 16 March 2005, Tate Modern.
Funded by Southwark Council this series of lifelong learning conferences brought enabled local providers to gain valuable updates on local and sub-regional strategies affecting the delivery of learning in Southwark; discover and share good practice through locally focussed workshops; network and make links with other local organisations working towards shared goals.

Working Together Conference*
March 2004, International Students House
This consultation event, supported by London Central LSC, was instrumental in facilitating a sub-regional voluntary sector response to the national LSC Working Together consultation and helped raise awareness of the role of voluntary and community sector organisations in the context of widening participation and the learning and skills agenda. The commission involved programme design, venue, catering and speaker selection, mailing list compilation, event marketing and promotion and full event management on the day.

In addition, Red Kite Learning has also worked in partnership or in an advisory capacity on events for the LSC, LDA and the Central London Change Up Consortium.
