Charity of the Year
Red Kite Learning has been chosen as the Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA) charity of the year 2010/11.
The Cleaning and Support Services Association is the trade association representing cleaning businesses employing more than 275,000 people. CSSA ran the rule over a wide range of employment charities and selected Red Kite Learning because of its track record of working with excluded groups and its focus on supporting people into work and sustaining their jobs.
Members at the CSSA Annual Luncheon collected £2,000 to support our work and importantly the association has committed itself to working with Red Kite Learning to create access to member job opportunities in the year ahead.
Brendan Tarring said, “I am proud that the work of RKL has been endorsed in this way and very excited that we have every prospect of opening the door to careers in the cleaning and buildings maintenance with businesses ranging in size from small family run enterprises to multinational corporations. We are working with CSSA to develop pre-recruitment and mentoring opportunities for our beneficiaries who we feel can build a career for the long term.”

We have new Trustees!
We are pleased to welcome new trustees, Somanah Achodoo, Bonnie Chouls, Amanda Hayes and David Welsh who will significantly broaden the skills and experience available to our organisation.
With backgrounds in the voluntary sector second tier, in education, the financial sector, research and knowledge management, the Board is now much better placed to steer the organisation through the challenges that lie ahead.
The Board has completely reviewed and updated its policy and procedures for the recruitment and induction of its trustees. The benefits were immediately obvious and were reflected in the high calibre of the many individuals who offered their support for our work.
Campaigning Alliance for Lifelong Learning
The Campaigning Alliance for Lifelong Learning believes that affordable access to the life changing opportunities provided by education is one of the hallmarks of a civilised society.
