Voices of empowerment

Red Kite Learning specialises in working with people facing all kinds of barriers to finding employment, including sustance misuse, a criminal record, lack of qualifications or work experience, and poor language and numeracy skills. We often encounter our clients at a low point in their lives, in crisis and uncertain about their future. Our holistic approach - empowering individuals, building relationships of trust - means that our beneficiaries can focus on achieving their goals and on progressing into meaningful work.

These short videos give a flavour of the work we do to support people wanting to move on from the things holding them back.

Working with the most disadvantaged

Fay works as employment advisor at Spectrum Centre in Camden, where she offers advice and support about work and training to street homeless people. But the job is about much more than just that.

Here she talks a little about the challenges she and her clients face.

Hackney Volunteer Mentor Project - the right support at the right time

Fehmina Kashmiri is Project Co-ordinator of this scheme to support substance users involved in the criminal justice system. The project uses volunteer mentors to respond rapidly to people's situations, so mentees get the support they need when they need it. And there are benefits for the volunteer mentors too.
